I saw an advertisement for the V-phone and wanted to find out if it can be in used in conjunction with the Vonage router(WRTP54G) that I already have. If I purchase this phone, will it tie into my current Vonage phone number or will I have to purchase a separate line? What really interests me about this phone is the mobility factor it offers. But if I can't use it as an extension of the Vonage adapter that I already have, it defeats the purpose of having it...I don't need nor want another separate line. |

You'll need another line. |

Thanks arcking and firewall. Vonage should be able to incorporate the V-Phone with the adapter that I already have into one existing account...It really makes no sense to me why they would not or could not. I really like the idea but I'm not going to forgo one for the other. |

They will set it up into your existing account... but unlike the SoftPhone it requires another number at their full-rates.

You now can get a phone number through AIM www.aim.com and for $9.95 a month get unlimited calls and free calls to many foreign (non USA) countries. What is the benefit of using the V-Phone when you can get a product with better fees scheduling from AIM?
Vonage should emulate AIM's phone service pricing.
I am happy with my regular Vonage phone, but the pricing on the V-Phone is not competitive. |
