For the most part I havent had any issues, but my wife has complained that during calls she can hear the caller but they cant hear her after some time.
Tonight I experienced it 5 times in a one hour conversation...had to hang up each time and call the person again.
I have my cable modem into my Netgear WGR614v2 (2.16 firmware) and my moto plugged in to one of the router ports with a static ip of 192.168.2.100. My PC's are wireless. I tried Moto's trick of wired phones and the problem still occurs.
No significatnt PC/network activity at the time of the voice cut out.
I have disabled the SPI firewall and put the moto in the DMZ. Additionally I have forwarded all the appropriate ports to the moto.
Any ideas? I started out fine but as time goes on this problem is really becoming an irritant. My wife is getting really irratable and is treating me like .... |

For the most part.... - means I haven't, but I make 1 minute phone calls usually. Wife sez it does it once a day on longer phone calls.
I will try your advice and continue my trials...
Will get it out of DMZ and unforward again.
Keep an eye out for me... I don't give up easy. I mean my gosh - I've lived with a wife who has a phone growing out of her head.... |

I had the same problem a week or so ago. People would call in and could hear us, but we couldn't hear them. Same w/outgoing calls. I tried the Moto box on both sides of the router with no change. Reboot of the Moto box worked for one or two calls, then the same symptoms would return.
Vonage finally fixed it by 'downloading some new firmware from the manufacturer'. They were a little vague about the details. Have Vonage support look at the solution for my ticket #521022 -- maybe it will work for you.
Good luck! |

I've had the same problem here as well. Calls are fine if they last a minute or two but anything longer and I get the "hello, hello? Hello?" from whoever is calling me. Happens if I iniate the call or if I receive one.
I've got a wife that is starting to want me to go back to the old land line as this is just not acceptable.
I'm contacting tech support later today. |

Well, I called Tech Support and explained the problem. Didn't get much help. The tech walked me through installing some stuff to monitor my network connection and asked me to leave it running for an hour and then he would call back--he didn't.
I referenced the above mentioned support ticket, but since that was four months ago he said that my machine already had the latest and greatest firmware.
He did mention that Comcast users have similar problems, or so he had thought he had heard. He was going to make a couple of changes to my box but I'm not sure if he did. Anyhow, I'm sure I'll know in a few days if anything has changed. |

I've had Vonage since the spring. There were a few hiccups in the beginning but since then it has been nearly flawless. What keeps me on board is the extra features and integration with my cell phone via simultaneous ring.
BTW Vonage, the price drop was nice but I've been comfortable with the price. I'd rather see new features than lower prices. May be when price drops are needed use the opportunity to ad some features at the old price and give the existing level of service at the new lower price. Giving existing users some incentive to keep paying the higher price seems like good merchandising to me. |
