I have the DGL-4300 and the RT31P2 too and to get my setup to work harmoniously I have to be quite formal in the way I boot it up. First off, I have had trouble getting the two devices to work together on anything other than v1.4 of the DGL firmware so you'll need to get that if you don't have it already.
Secondly, make all the settings changes you think are necessary to the DGL. Assign the RT31P2 a static IP address and put this address in the DMZ of the DGL. Make sure you are happy with these settings as once you get the RT31P2 connected, any changes to the DGL that require you to reboot it more often than not cause the RT31P2 to lose its link to Vonage.
Now the fun part. Turn off all of your network equipment including your modem and all connected PCs, swithces etc. Now, turn on your modem and wait till its booted up, now turn on your router and wait a few minutes for it to boot up fully. Now turn on your RT31P2 and wait for the phone light to come on. Once this light has come on, you can start turning on your other devices one at a time. I found this method by trial and error as turning on all the devices at once just didn't work. If it's going to work, it might take a few attempts and can get frustrating. |

Hi ralphnic
I have a RT31P2 running well behind a DGL-4300 FW1.6, here is my setup.
DGL-4300: DHCP on, UPNP on, SPI on, DMZ off, Game Fuel on, Automatic Classification on, Dynamic Fragmentation off, Automatic Uplink Speed off
RT31P2: DHCP off, UPNP off, QOS off
RT31P2 has a DHCP Reservation in DGL-4300 /Basic/DHCP/
UDP ports 5061, 10000-20000 are forwarded to the RTP31P2 via entry in DGL-4300 /Advanced/Gaming/
Setup as above, my RT31P2 & DGL-4300 have been completely stable online regardless of whether either of the devices have been power-cycled. DGL-4300 /Status/Active Sessions/ shows a constant session between the RT31P2 and Vonage on UDP 5061 |

RobG, I'm going to give your configuration a try. I have been able to get the RT31P2 to work on my DGL with v1.6 of the firmware but it wasn't stable and would disconnect at any time up to 15 minutes after I thought I had it all working. I had no choice but to go back to what worked for me.
Also, once the RT31P2 is up and running, I cannot access its web interface any longer. I've assigned it a static IP address like I have with all my connected devices but it just times out when I try it. Has this happened with you? |

Is Remote Admin enabled on your RT31P2? Even though the RT31P2 is plugged into your DGL-4300 it still needs to be setup for Remote Administration to access the web interface via IP, & port# if you're using a non-standard port, ie: http://192.168.0.97:2107/

Good to hear it is working. |
