PostPosted: Thu Jul 06, 2006 9:04 pm    Post subject: Disable voicemail password when calling from home phone? Reply with quote Back to top

Did a search and of course password comes up hundreds of times, so I appoligize if this has already been asked.

When calling your voicemail (*123) from your home/vonage phone is there not an option to disable the password prompt?

I would like to dial *123 and go straight to the voicemail main menu. Is this possible?

TIA

If your phone has a phonebook you can put an entry called voicemail, or avoicemail so it will be at the top of the list, and put *123PP*****

I know that's not what you were looking for, but its an idea.

Thanks. I thought about doing that, and it's an idea if there is no option to disable.

The PP stands for pause... so you'd dial *123 and the phone would pause for 2-3 seconds and send the password. Gives the voicemail time to answer/prompt for password.

Was hoping there was a disable option... but it might just be wishful thinking.

What type of phone do you have? You look for the word "pause" on the buttons, under them, etc. I'm not trying to be a wise guy, it just takes looking (your phone might not have pauses), but it took me a while to find how to put them in my phone!

I also put P11 at the end to get by the "if you want to listen to your messages press 1" prompt. One word of caution, if the voice mail takes longer than normal to answer, you may still need to enter your password, due to the fact that the speed dial already entered the password before it was actually prompted.
