Sharing Volume setting on VT2442 (possibility)
It is just a curiosity to me as I like the loud line better than my landline's quiet line.
Since we can save the router settings to disk, It seems reasonable that someone who got their volume lowered by Vonage tech support could share their file.
Then an adventurous individual could load that file and see if the lower volume was part of that file.
Regards,
Ron. |

Not quite sure what you're asking, but if you're wondering if the volume settings can also be saved on a disk along with the router/voice settings on the VT2442, that is incorrect. You cannot.
The device/line properties are set by the tech agent at Vonage. Upon reboot, the device downloads the change from the Vonage configuration servers. These settings constantly get sent to the router every 20-40 minutes or so. If it was even possible to change it on your own, it would be changed back to the Vonage-set settings later. |

You understood correctly and now I understand why that will not work.
I thought it might be saved because I heard that someone lost his loudness setting. That seems odd if it is constantly refreshed. |

Speaking of odd, I can't import or export settings at all.
On my Tools page, there is no Import/Export option.
I see it in the manual, but it's not in my router.
Here are my router's firmware revisions
Gateway 11.1.0-r060427-0.7.1 -r3
Boot Loader 1.3.3.1101 |
