I had the same issue with this router, talked with DLInk Tech Support and they told me it was defective. I got a new router from them with the same issue!
What I was able to figure out was that WPA-PSK was the issue, this router (even with the latest firmware 2.40) continued to lock up periodically. Once I set the router to WEP 152 encryption it has not locked up since
Thanks for posting this info. I've not been a fan of D-Link products, but there are plenty of them out there. Verizon ships a D-Link 624(?) with their FIOS service and it has plenty of issues.

That'd be good news there. I usually yank the 624's anytime I find one and throw in anything I can. The RTP300 is almost an upgrade compared to it. I'm moving soon, so I might pick up FIOS if it's available in my new house. Not sure if the Verizon fiber has been through there yet or not.
