Post subject: Vphone and Softphone
I believe the new USB Vphone by
Vonage
offers an unlimited plan so it can be used like a normal voice line instead of the 500 minutes a softphone offers. does this mean that if i were to buy a vphone,
vonage
would provide the sip credentials for a UNLIMITED plan number? Can anyone confirm that has bought one?

Yes, you need to get a regular plan with the v-phone.
Does that mean you can get access to the credentials? No, not without violating the
Vonage
terms of service. I would assume that the credentials are no more available to you than they are with an adapter or the WiFi phone.

It seems that the biggest difference between the Vphone and Softphone is that you specifically do not get your SIP credentials with the Vphone while you do with the softphone. By using the memory stick,
Vonage
can download the SIP credentials into the device "automatically" without letting the subscriber see them - same as is done with all of the other locked
Vonage
devices.
The part about plugging the Vphone into "someone else's" computer seems a bit unlikely - I would let someone use my phone for free before I would let them put their
Vonage
dongle into my PC.
