I was thinking about motives... here's the thing, as far as I'm aware, Etisalat and TRA are governed out of Abu Dhabi. In other words, Etisalat is primarily a federal jurisdiction. Most of the public outrage (including issues pertaining to the 'freezone' internet access) is concerning Dubai residents. So, maybe the Dubai govt. is interested in keeping its residents happy, but Abu Dhabi couldn't care less... I dunno, maybe that has something to do with it. If that's the case, then I agree with BiteMeEIM, we have to attempt diplomatic/embassy correspondence to have some influence.
I'd be careful if i was you....people out there are always trying to make a quick buck out of people who are in need. It might be legit, but be wary...
Do not go out and buy any new solutions... Today ETISALAT unblocked skype and port 5061 and 5060 the sip ports. www.testyourvoip.com works... now I need to bring the box here to test, however will do this tomorrow.
