You know I'm so glad I found this forum. It's so reassuring to know that I'm not in this alone and that others are also trying to resolve the situation. It's so nice how all of us have come together and are helping each other out in this ordeal...I hope we all get our happy ending inshallah (God willing).

All,

Given this may be a long "campaign" perhaps we should setup a site for discussion - as this thread is really long now. Has anyone thought about this already? If not I can knock something together and setup some of the main posters as moderators?

Let me know - the petition I setup seems to be ticking along nicely 300 sigs almost (www.petitiononline.com/uaevoip)

i'm really surprised to see the number of signatures.. i wouldn't be surprised if it climbs to 300 signers by tomorrow.

Hey I just met, Moh... We are definately going to start this.. please contact him or me and lets work to improve our lifes here in Dubai. Dubai is in my opinion the best place in the world... it just has its points that make it VERY frustrating sometimes. Lets work on it.... with everyones support we can definately make a difference as expats ARE dubai.

Possible Skype Solution

For all of you using Skype I may have a solution. I just came off the phone to DIC (to complain for the 43rd time this week) and was told by an analsyst to download the latest version of Skype and then go into Tools, Options, Connections and ensure the box which says "use port 80 and 443 for incomming connections" is ticked.

Mine was already ticked and has been working - but for those of you not working it would be worth checking this.
