I'm famous too jumanji!!! lets hope our celebrity status gets the point across to Etisalat/Tecom/DIC... etc..
"This article pertains to the most recent block done by Tecom (DIC) to the UDP ports 10000-20000 and possibly the SIP ports. Tecom is claiming a block was made by Etisalat on their servers without their control. How far that is true, we dont know. We already know Etisalat has blocked
Voip
but isn't that the point of being in a free zone? Dubai needs to follow its own regulations in the freezone. DIC always mentions that they do not have any internet restrictions. TECOM - Get your act together!"

i was thinking of setting up a forum on a haphazardly done dubai information site so we can all show up there as a point of reference in case anything goes wrong (just anything in general regarding the "new-dubai" community..
but decided to just hang out here.. i have the database setup under phpbb..

hey srmillar, i woke up this morning thinking of doing the same thing! I'm glad to notice you've set up a petition, i'm gonna go ahead and sign it right now.. My morning brainstorm session also included setting up a dedicated site for the cause (instead of relying on this thread that's now 20+ pages long), if this thing doesn't resolve in the very near future, lemme know, maybe we can set up a basic site. It occurred to me that of all those people disturbed by the blocking of
Voip
services, only a small percentage has reached this site, and an even smaller percentage actually bothers to post. There must be hundreds of people out there, and if we target them precisely, maybe we get the ball rolling on a public protest
haha ok now i'm getting carried away, my intent is not to begin a riot with a stoning of the etisalat building, but we should definetly be able to exercise an option of expressing ourselves using appropriate diplomatic channels
Definitely Moh - I thought about that too but suspect Etisalat would just block any site setup to discuss. I am assuming that anything we put on petitiononline will not be blocked as even they couldn't block a petition......or could they?

I tell you what... I can start one on
http://www.dubaibuildings.com/
if you want, I am a frequent poster on that, i can ask the admins to do it.
should i start it? we can discuss other things on there, however
Vonage
should stay here... i think... also, its a good site for construction/real estate, general news.

ragga.. i think the best place would be somewhere we have control.. for example.. if it was on my site or moh's site, etc.. we can make admins, remove/add forums as we see fit.. etc.
