My
Vonage
stopped working 4 days ago. I live in the Springs and fall under the TECOM/DIC service. I've read the above posts but have some questions. Please answer the following:
1. Who am I supposed to contact and complain? And can I say that the
Voip
isn't working or should I just stick to the "Yahoo Messenger is not working" like Ragga?
2. Do you guys think
Vonage
will work again soon?
3. Is there anything else I can do?
Vonage
is like air to me! Because of it, I don't feel homesick as I did before
Vonage
. I am able to LIVE in Dubai with a peace-of-mind that my friends and family back home can contact me whenever they want and vice versa. Just today I called my mom from my home phone and told her about this blockage, and we both were in tears, thinking "now what?!?".
You guys I'm very desperate for this service!! PLEASE anyone, if there's any info you can tell me about how to retrieve this service, PLEASE DO. I'm very computer/IT illiterate and just hope and pray that it "automatically" just starts up again.
Hi Vixen
We all feel the same way. My entire week has been ruined stressed by this whole episode
We are hopeful it will be back soon but getting the run around from Tecom or DIC
Most of us have raised our complaints to their Technical Department and are getting stories of between two to 20 days which is really a disgrace for something that is simple
Anyways, Tecom can be reached at
(04) 390 5555
thanks

Vixen - Skype is still working. Goto
www.skype.com
and download the programme to your PC. Sign up for the Skype credit and you can call your mum for much cheapness.
Not as good as
Vonage
but it will tie you over.

Let me know how it goes - I would be interested to see if you get the same number etc.
You cant get anything other than a DIC connection if you are in an Emaar property I believe...

i asked them to keep the same number, i just wanted to switch the device.. they went ahead with it.. i'm still on the phone.. 45+ minutes and counting..
i asked her if there were any sold in stores in my home state.. so believe it or not, she puts me on hold and spends 15 minutes looking at circuitcity.com, walmart.com, and samsclub.com.. i would have hung up.. but i would have to wait another 20 minutes..
i told her to go ahead with it.. and she said she would continue.. she put me on hold 10 minutes ago.. just came back and said it takes time to process the order.. she'll be with me soon!
ohh man.. she should be working for etisalat!

Hi
I am calling DIC every 5 or so hours to complain. I suggest we all maintain pressure.
