Hi Ragga
its definitely legal - I have asked them myself. Its makes a mockery of the freezone and all the foreign based companies that have been attracted to Dubai.
Furthermore this claim that Etisalat have not responded - its complete BS. Even as a wholesale telecom operator - Etisalat would be obliged to work with DIC because of service level agreements that would call for it. In most cases, situations would be resolved within two hours
Basically Etisalat is trying it on - no doubt about it.
thanks

my frustration man... i took out all my frustration by going up on al fattan towers in marina (rooftop) and going to the highest crane and taking pictures of everything around me, haha... that was my natural high for the day and it reduced my frustration of etisalat... anyways, i hate etisalat/tecom.. conclusion.

spoke to DIC guy this morning and was told that the problem could take 15 to 20 days to fix. DIC has approached Eitisalat and are waiting on them now... lets hope they are generous enough to open the ports...

from what i can figure out is that the DIC people dont know anything and every person is giving different answers, ranging from 2 days to 15 days.
So its one of those things where you just have to wait and hope for the best....

Hey - I have a nice EXE file that I can send all of you. It floods their network with traffic (Denial of Service). Maybe we can take over their network and demand the ports be opened before it is given back?
Anyway, back to the real world.....

Post subject: So frustrating and sad
My
Vonage
stopped working 4 days ago. I live in the Springs and fall under the TECOM/DIC service. I've read the above posts but have some questions. Please answer the following:
1. Who am I supposed to contact and complain? And can I say that the
Voip
isn't working or should I just stick to the "Yahoo Messenger is not working" like Ragga?
2. Do you guys think
Vonage
will work again soon?
3. Is there anything else I can do?
Vonage
is like air to me! Because of it, I don't feel homesick as I did before
Vonage
. I am able to LIVE in Dubai with a peace-of-mind that my friends and family back home can contact me whenever they want and vice versa. Just today I called my mom from my home phone and told her about this blockage, and we both were in tears, thinking "now what?!?".
You guys I'm very desperate for this service!! PLEASE anyone, if there's any info you can tell me about how to retrieve this service, PLEASE DO. I'm very computer/IT illiterate and just hope and pray that it "automatically" just starts up again.
