hey everyone.. just got off the phone with DIC.

he said that the problem should be fixed in 2-3 days time.. there have been a large volume of calls in regards to this..

i said "this is the same thing that was told to us 2 days ago.. "

and he said "for sure.. its under progress.. 2-3 days time is what we are being told it will take to solve the issue."

its always an interesting experience dealing with DIC. a new story every time Wink

Just found this forum - great to know people are willing to assist each other - I have also lost my connection and being an absolute techie loser have no clue how you guys have resolved this.

Would anyone be willing to send me the solution?

I live in new Dubai and called DIC - gave me verbal assurance this would be up in a couple of days.

But I don't believe a word of what I hear in Dubai any more.

another evening to go home and hope when i push the speakerfone button of my fone, i will hear a dial tone...Sad

Ragga, Habibi can you pls pm me the solution also.

The DIC ppl on the phone just know how to say yes. they dont know anything about whats wrong, thats how i see it.

hey guys.. i'll leave the "work-around" up to ragga to decide who he will share that information with.. since he was kind enough to share that information with me.. i don't want to go above him Wink in my eyes, since he founded this solution.. i'll leave everything in his discretion.. again, much thanks ragga.

anyway.. i called the tech department again.. now its getting funny.. these people recognize me! "ohh hi again"

hah.. anyhow, i grilled a little bit more.. i wanted to know if the ports would be unblocked and he assured me it would.. "the problem is etisalat.. but we are 100% free" he gave me the impression that we got looped into etisalat's backbone blocking of Voip services.. and that our (DIC) technicians were working with their (etisalat's) technicians to get it unblocked for the freezones.

btw, as i'm sure you have all guessed by now.. its still not working Wink

anyhow.. i'm going to wait a few more days before i go and try ragga's method.. ragga's method.. i have to say, seems really awesome..
