Problem:I will be talking to someone and then all of a sudden I hear a click and the the phone is dead. I try to redial and then I get a busy signal(this can occur for up to 5 minutes). I first thought it was my wireless router, however I have replaced it 3 times and it still does the same thing. Then I replaced my cordless phone, with a standard phone, same thing. Fortunately the new wireless router I purchased has better options for logging issues, and it shows a specific message on the router, that corresponds everytime to the disconnect on the phone.

Drop illegal TCP packet from WAN (src:64.92.169.193), however the IP address is different most of the time.

I tried to search the internet for the IP's, but it becomes convoluded quite quickly, and never says who owns the IP. My thoughts are while I am connected, Vonage is sending a conflicting packet, and is causing the router to crash.

I hope someone can help, because I called tech support, and they were unable to help. I have been a Vonage customer for almost 2yrs now and just since May this has started occurring. I guess if it doesnt get resolved I will just have to try someone new like SunRocket.

There's a good chance that the problem you're experiencing is your connection and not Vonage-specific, so switching to another Voip provider will probably give you the exact same problems.

The illegal packet could be the end of the RTP stream... I would have them change the phone port
