The timezone settings are somewhat confusing on the website.
First of all, there are two separate menus for registered users: under USER MENU> YOUR INFO at the top of the page* under PROFILE, just above the posts*
I'm not sure which one is dominant, but they don't seem to be communicating between themselves, so users have to enter data -- such as their location or timezone -- into both of them. I think this is causing some confusion.
Also, it would be really lovely if the timezone pulldown menu had friendly names (i.e. "US Central", "Western Europe"...) next to their values.
For example, do most users want to ask themselves whether Central Standard Time is GMT-6 or GMT-7? Does it change when it becomes Central Daylight Time, or does GMT adapt, too?
If these changes are implemented, I'll bet we'll see fewer posts in other forums about "why the times are wrong."
*This applies to the default "bluebyu" website theme. |
