1. Highland, IL 2. Charter Highspeed - cable 3. Upload: 262 Download: 1369 4. Modem: 3M - Model: 3CRZ9220 5. Linksys: RT31P2 6. Modem --->Vonage Adapter ---> PC 7. I was having issues connecting to the internet. I unplugged all devices - modem - router - disconnected cables - shutdown computer for an extended period of time. Plugged everything back in - and the internet stats it is "searching for IP address" - modem lights are all on - router lights are on - I am able to make/receive phone calls. I took the router out of the mix and was able to connect to the internet. I also called Charter to see if there was any issues in the Highland area and all was okay. Was told it sounds like the router is causing an issue. I even did the reboot button and still no luck. Suggestions? Thanks! |

set it up the way you usually have it (modem - rt31p2 - pc) if you're in windows, go to start, run. type in cmd and hit enter. type in "ipconfig /release" without the quotes. then type in "ipconfig /renew" your computer is trying to do this on its own, but it obviously isn't working, so this will just verify that windows isn't screwing up with its user friendly stuff. if it still doesn't work, I would try uninstalling and reinstalling your network card through device manager, and/or trying a different pc in the rt31p2 if you can get one. |
