I know technically that it can be done, it is an add-on module to our current software.
It has been suggested in the past, but most members agreed that it was best to post in the public forums as that leaves a searchable foot-print that chat does not leave. |

Well, I'd agree that a searchable topic is great, if not crucial, but to chat with someone real-time is the best support that can be attained, and I think this place is ready to go full on. Someone is always available to help out, and chat would make this place the ONLY place to get instant support. I think you want this place to succeed, and having chat is a great way towards that. |

I'm fine with keeping it just a forum.
PM can be great to help people. I know its better to keep it as a thread in the forum, but I just wanted to make sure this person knew what they were asking about, which they ended up not. I think IM would be good as well, and that's something each user can opt for if they wish. |

Well, ya know what, this place is VERY good as a forum, and probably should stay that way. It's NOT 'greatest idea for this place". I think the forum does a good job, and why mess with that. |
