Isn't there a way to reprogram a device with a different serial number? For example I wonder if I could buy used a equipment off E-bay and flash the account number I use currently. There doesn't seem to be a way to purchase or change hardware without opening a new Vonage account?

sure you can, if you buy it new/unused.
as far as reprogramming it, I haven't heard about that.

It's a warning. As far as ANYTHING that violates the TOS, it won't be spoken of here. And that would violate the TOS.

I understand that it's their ball and therefore Vonage can do whatever they want, but I don't get why they have this no-secondary-activations policy. It's not like they make any money off of hardware to new customers anyway...

I suppose it's because if someone really wants Vonage, and can't buy a used adapter cheap, they'll go and get service the way Vonage wants them to. I don't like it. But it's wrong for rotten sellers to stick buyers with them, and then run.

I wonder why EBay allows folks to sell used Vonage devices. Seems like it would be in their best interest to just not allow it. I'm sure they've gotten many complaints from people purchasing one of the used devices and then finding out they won't ever work for Vonage service.

Honestly, I think Ebay doesn't care because, no matter what, they get their cut. It's wrong, and that's why I wrote that thing.

Its also a very small amount of all eBay sales and complaints.

Dave: Did you see only 1 out of 3 people found the gudie helpful. What's up with that?
