Hi,

I currently have my VT1000 configured with calls prioritized (according the instructions). I have it wired: cable modem --> vt1000 --> router (dlink di-604).

I want to change this to Calls not prioritzed, so: cable modem --> router --> vt1000

Thing is, when I wire it this way, the green light on the vt1000 never goes solid. Flashes 2 times forever.

Is there something I have to configure on the router or VT1000 itself?

Any help is appreciated.

it can't get an ip address for some reason. telling us some information would be great. answer most everything here except speed tests.

Here you go.

1. Your location - Calgary, Alberta, Canada

2. Your ISP name and type (cable, DSL, wireless etc) - Cybersufer (they use Shaw's lines) type is cable

3. Upload and download speeds - See below

4. Modem make and model - VT1000

5. Type of Vonage adapter used ie RT31P2 or PAP2 - none

6. Setup of Network ie Modem---->Vonage Adapter-->PC - Cable modem --> router --> vt1000

7. Issue you are experiencing ie dropped calls, choppy audio etc - light onVT1000 will not go solid green when in the above configuraton.

wow, my bad.
did you ever set the vt1000 for a static ip? make sure it's set up for dhcp and that your router is set up to pass out ip's (esp that you didn't limit the number of ip addresses it can hand out. standard is something like 50, but some people limit it to the number of computers they have connected for security purposes)
also, that router has qos functionality built in, so you can still give the vt100 priority over network traffic once it works.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions.

The router is enabled as a dhcp server and the vt1000 is set to obtain IP address dynamically (they both always were set like this).

Not sure what the issue is. I've got to watch a movie witht the kids right now, but later I may try set a Static DHCP on the routher for the vt1000 and then set the vt1000 to that ip.

Or do you have any other suggestions?

Well, it is still a mystery.

Tried the static dhcp on the router. That got the vt1000 blinking 4 times, but never a solid.
