I was interested in the Add a Second Line Deal for existing customers, has anyone already tried it?

Its free activation, free 2 months of service and free cancellation if you don't wish too keep the extra line after the 2 free month period.

If so did all go smooth? I'm fearful of hidden fees but would like to give it a try.

I could not find the terms of this deal either via Vonages website, So I contacted the call number and my god lol, I couldn't get the rep off the phone unless i clenched a deal. So I backed out for now.

any advice would be greatly appreciated !!

I couldn't figure out their reasoning behind why most people would want a second line, but since the deal was only available if your first line was on the unlimited plan it was a non-starter for me.

hmmm that is a very selective special. I guess no one else signed up for it then ?

I thought it would be nice to have a second line that way I could choose an aera code where my daughter lives and her calls to me would be free for her.

I think you'd be better off spending $5 a month on a virtual number, rather than $15 for a second line.

So the answer to why any would want to spend $15 on a second line vs. just getting a virtual number is easy: 16-year-old daughter. Even the Brady kids had their own phone line, and that was 35+ years ago.

A second line isn't just a second number, it is physically a second set of wire that ring independent of your main line. You may want it for a home office, the kids, a fax machine, whatever.

The best way to respond to that is:

Look at the reason maryjane wants another line! Idea

I do see why maryjane would want to take advantage of 2 months free, but to continue that service would not seem the most economical option from what I understand the purpose would be.

Makes sense arking. And it would be 24.99 I would be paying after the two free months since you must choose the premium unlimited plan for this deal.

Maybe I will just do the two free months see if it works out ok, then cancel and do the virtual number....... I wonder if I would be able to keep that same number though....... hmmmm beginning to sound like a hassle.

The only reason I see for you to use the promotion is to save $10, but it would probably be worth more than $10 in your time and trouble to keep it simple! Unless you need/want to actual 2nd line, then it might make better sense.

Thanks for your input
