A second line isn't just a second number, it is physically a second set of wire that ring independent of your main line. You may want it for a home office, the kids, a fax machine, whatever. |
I actually considered that, but I figured all the kids today used IM or some web based voice application (via IM or a third party). They still use telephones (besides cell phones of course)? |

Whether the second line makes sense depends on if you need two lines simultaneously. Whether this offer makes sense depends on you use patterns.
First you have to ask, “Do I want two lines (as opposed to a virtual number)?”
If you want to be able to talk and send or receive a fax at the same time or want to have two people talking on two different calls simultaneously, then you want a second line.
Now you have to ask, “Is this offer the way to go?”
Since this offer only applies to the unlimited plan, even if you need two lines you may be better off getting two 500 minute lines if that meets your needs rather than this offer – cheaper in the long run if you generally use less than 500 minutes each line.
Also, keep in mind the “Fax line” option. This gives you a second line for $9.99 and 250 minutes outgoing. Again, depending on your use patterns, this may be the way to go. |
