I change out my network equipment about every six months but my current setup I'm pretty happy with (you can see what I currently have in my signature). In regards to the router specifically, I like the WRT54GS because of its hardware. With a 200MHz processor, 32MB RAM and 8MB Flash, it is one of the beefier routers you'll find out there. If you don't want to use the wireless part, disable it. You'll still have a strong router. And, even though it has Speedbooster (hence the GS), I don't have a GS card. I honestly bought it over the WRT54G only because of the doubled RAM. |
