Hey guys!
I was listening to a plug for the free upgrade special they're doing this month (I'm sure you've got this message in your voicemail, too) and I noticed that the delightful speaker pronounced the service "Vah-nage"
Now that I replay it, it seems her name is Janet Vonage (I thought it was "Janet Vanich" .. but it makes sense now!)
Here I was, saying "Vo-nage" (you know, like "vodafone" .. but trendier) Silly me! |

And who is this Janet Vonage lady, anyway? She's not listed as part of the "Leadership Team" on the corporate website.
Is she a low-profile/anonymous creator, like Coca-Cola's father, John Pemberton?
Is she a fictitious "brand" character, like Betty Crocker?
I see the makings for a new poll if this isn't resolved soon.

Ironically, I hate talking on the phone--for business matters, at least.
In fact, before I got Vonage, I was roughing it with a broadband connection and no phone number. But this started to irritate friends and family, so I finally broke down. You'll notice that my phone service is still secondary to my broadband access
I always e-mail Vonage with questions, so before my System Announcement (the caps make it look portentious), I don't suppose I'd ever heard anyone pronounce it.
I think it would be funny if different service reps pronounced it differently when you called them. |

I thought Vonage as in Phone. With the long O. That made since to me, cause it's a phone. |

It's VON-AGE as in the AGE of VON.
VON being Voice On the Net..
Problem solved?

I don't get why people add a 't' and call it "Vontage". Those people are better off dead. |
