I don't know much about voip... but i'm certain that it can't take up as much bandwidth as it appears to be taking up...
I recently got vonage and now I can't watch any kind of video online.. I can still surf... but it seems that my download speeds have been dropped to near dialup...
I tried the bandwidth saver thing.. which seemed to do nothing at all...
What else can I do? |

Please provide information about your network setup. See the sicky post at the tops of the forums on what to include. |

I'm not usually the type to post a question... and stickies at the top are usually the same old boring stuff... post all the information about everything... blah blah blah... and they usually ramble on for a good 3 pages...
yes it helps when people include as much info as possible about the problem... but sometimes they don't want to sit there and type all that out when someone could probly answer their question in 3 minutes without it...
anyway, I went to a more friendly forum and found a few people with the same problem. together we figured out that we were collectively stupid and had overlooked a simple speed setting on the nic itself. When the nic was set to auto-detect and vonage was installed.. it seemed to drop it to around 10/full... after physically setting it to 10/full and then back to auto-detect.. the problem was solved... weird.. but it worked..
"see the sticky" .... lol.. what a waste of a post... |

No.
Is this a good waste of a post, too?
Do us a favor, we've been here a long time and have seen the same issues over and over. There are always exceptions to that though. If you want help, give us what we ask for. If not, no ones going to be able to help you that much. Vonage setup's have lots of variables, and not all setups are created equal. |

The suggested posting info would be very helpful in troubleshooting your problem. I'll be asking several of the questions in there, as they are needed to pinpoint the problem.
How is your network set up (how are things connected together?) and does this happen all the time or only when you're on the phone? Are you watching videos over wireless internet? do you have 2.4Ghz cordless phones? |

Well, regardless of that, I know how you feel, but I just wanted to ask:
