Hey folks, I have my account set-up to simultaneously ring my cell phone. I haven't yet received my cell bill in the mail and a concern just occurred to me. Where does the call actually originate should I decide to answer the call on my cell? In other words, when I recieve a call on my cell via Vonage's simulring, my cell displays +XXX-XXX-XXXX (notice the '+', where X's are numbers), which I find odd. In other words, I'd hate to be paying through the nose for what I thought was a local call when I decide to answer on my cell instead of the phone hanging off the MTA. Dave |

I am a tad confused, but will try to add my two-cents. The "+" is added by the Vonage system to the caller ID.
I guess in your case, this would allow you to know if the call was from the ATA/MTA.
I would guess that the time starts from the ring and ends when you hang-up. This only applies if you answer the call.
This is the way my Verizon/Nextel cell telephones work.
If I have missed the point, please repost. |

Guess I wasn't too clear with my posting. If I answer a call on my cell (simulring with my Vonage account) instead of my phone hanging off the MTA, I'm just not certain how the call works with respect to my cell provider. I get X number of freely received local calls with my cell, but would a call received from my Vonage account and answered on my cell still be considered local (assuming the call originated from my same area code)? |
