The UTStarcom F3000 works fine with a Vonage soft phone account. It currently is the same as the F1000 in that it does not allow https based logins to hot spots (normally required if the hot spot wants money). There are plans to add that to the F3000 in future software, though it is not exactly clear when that will be. |

As long as the device supports SIP you can use a soft phone account with it. The reason you have to get the soft phone account is because Vonage gives you the SIP details. |

Do you actually mean softphone? Or do you mean WiFi phone? Are those the same to Vonage?
I ask because I have been using the F1000 for a while, and have been thinking of trying to shift to an F3000. Would this mean I need to switch to a softphone account?
Thank you. |

Soft Phone means Soft Phone Account. You get a soft phone account and put the SIP configuration details into the F3000 phone. As far as Vonage is concerned, it is a "soft phone" - which is how they handle "any unsupported" standard SIP device. They all work fine once you have the SIP details in - but the only way to get SIP details from Vonage is on a soft phone account. They do not release SIP details for primary accounts. |

I had the F3000 working on my Vonage account but I needed to have the 'soft phone' option. Quality was horrible. If you really want a decent provider that the F3000 is amazing on check out http://www.reliaclear.com |
