Does anybody have a recommendation on a phone system? I run a small business and have an office in two states. I am looking for something easy to use and not too expensive.
Thanks in advance |

I use TalkSwitch for my business. Works good with no problems and TalkSwitch has a lot of great features. I also use the PAP2 phone adapter and a D-Link DI-524 Router. I would highly recommend it for a small business.

Thanks for the response. I checked them out and they look good.
I have a few questions for you.
Are you using vonage lines for this set up?
Where did you purchase the D-Link DL-524 Router, through vonage?
What is the PAP2 adapter?
I talked to the people at TalkSwitch and they mentioned that i would need to buy an ATA adapter from vonage. Did you purchase one of these?
Which TalkSwitch unit did you buy?

I am using vonage. I switched from Verizon. Verizon Charged me $34 to change my company name. I'm sick of the high prices with Verizon.
PAP2 is the Vonage phone adapter. You can connect up to 2 phone lines for each adapter you buy. I purchased that and the router at Circuit City. I needed them fast.
I don't know anything about a ATA adapter. I haven't purchased anything from vonage.
All I have is an Westell DSL Router > D-Link 524 Airplus G > Linksys PAP Phone Adapter > TalkSitch 24-CA
I have a women from voice123.com that does the voicemail system and Auto Attendant script for $60 a page. I can give you her email address if you want.
I also use a AT&T Regular 4-line phone.
I think that my setup sounds great. No Static or nothing. A lot better than the regular phone. I just hope I don't run into any problems.

Hi John,
Your set up sounds very good.
Send me her e-mail. My email address is vonage-forum(at)cetcapital.com
I didn't totally understand the pricing, what does $60 a page mean?
Thanks in advance,
Damian |

Hi and thanks for sharing your set up.
How do you tie the voicemail system into this? Are you still able to get your voicemail sent as a .wav to your email? Please provide more details of your set up if you do not mind...(how many vonage numbers, what model switch/pbx are you using, have you connected music on hold etc.)
Any information you can share would be great. |

Two Vonage phone numbers. The Business plan. I will hook up two more lines soon.
Verizon DSL
Router: D-Link 524 Airplus G
Phone Adapter: Linksys PAP2
PBX Phone System: TalkSitch 24-CA
I also have a HP Laserjet Fax. That works fine through Vonage.
I do not use the Vonage voicemail. The talkswitch PBX system will call my Cell and tell me that I have a message and I can press a number to listen to the messages
I don't have any music on hold as of yet. Maybe in the future.
The talkswitch has a lot of nice features. I've been using Talkswitch since January with no problems. I was using Verizon but got sick of their pricing. Everything was plug and play basically. It only took exactly 7 days to switch my main phone # from Verizon to Vonage.
Vonage Caller ID also works great with PBX systems when ringing through to the exstensions.

Hi jmilane
At the risk of sounded dumb, your setup sounds wonderful and I'm wonderfing if you might give me the rundown in laymans terms.
So it looks like you have two vonage numbers.
One vonage adapter with two lines and 2 numbers. Both of those lines connect into your PBX from talkswitch?
You then have 4 phones connected on the other side of the PBX or just one phone that takes 4 line inputs?
Does this mean you can make and receive 4 calls at once?
I take it your callers dial one number and the PBX routes the call to the open line on the other side?
What if line one (the number people dial) is busy, can others still call in? Can you explain that further.
Thanks so much. |
