I currently have two business lines with Sprint, one line has DSL Services installed on it that I'll 'gradually' transistion to Voip last. I'm currently getting another broadband (TWC) isp this week before I transfer service on it.
My two lines are used mainly for customers calling in, which is then forwarded to my cell phone/ pager system. I'm ready to leave Sprint.
My Vonage scenario: I want to convert the main Sprint number (line1) to a Vonage account in the capacity of primary number within 30 days. Then, at a later date, move the other (line2) (currently dsl) over to Vonage as a "Virtual line" hence forwarding it to line1.
Does anyone see any roadblocks? Please chime in. TWC will be out later this week to install broadband.
Thanks! Doug |

they don't work on your time schedule, so don't come back crying when it takes longer than 30 days to port your number. check the lnp forum for horror stories. of course, yours may go in 10 days, but just be aware lnp's can take a long time. you can't port a number to a virtual number. you should be able to port it as a regular line and then go virtual with it later. |

Good evening,
I’m simply considering Vonage as an alternative to Sprint and am aware it will not be a smooth transition. Being in business I am use to hassles, therefore I'll certainly not be crying. *LOL* Under funding and understaffing are likely reasons why Vonage is unable to adequately support their customer base and address said issues, hence the backlogs. It's all about money.
Anyway I just want to give this a try. If I can have my way both lines will be virtual numbers. There's a method to my madness. =)
Thanks for your input. |

np, good luck with it. fyi though, you have to have at least one "real" number because all virtual numbers do is ring your "real number". kind of like an automatic, permanent forward. |
