I just purchased the just purchased Linksys WRTP54G and definitely need a router with strong Qos. I am reading that this router is not that strong in that area.
Does anybody have a suggestion regarding a great router?
Does anybody who does heavy downloading have an opinion on this router or how to get this router to give priority to the Vonage phone?

I had nothing but problems when I went through my Linksys router to adjust the QoS, so I turned it off completely and used the Hawkings broadband booster to handle the QoS. What a difference! Since I did this, my audio is perfect and I've had zero issues. Personally, I'd recommend going this route.
Do i need the modem anymore since i bought this phone Uniden UIP1869V?

If you mean the Linksys WRTP54G, the answer is no. The Uniden has the Voip functions built in. Of course, it has to be registered with Vonage, and service to the Linksys will be discontinued, unless you pay for 2 lines.
