I get the humming noise also on the 2442. I just compared it to my AT&T voice line, and I definitely get the humming you describe.
This sux. |

I don't disagree about the power supply or even internal adapter component noise. But only one of my panasonic phones also creates a hum. I believe it has to much gain in the handset. The built in (but switchable off) voice enhancer makes it worse. I don't use that phone so I don't worry about it. Also, Do ya'll remember the post (do a search) about the noise from the vt1005 adapter when it first came out. The "fix" I believe was to short the leads of the second line on the adapter. Not suggesting it. But. |

I have the same problem with mine. I ended up moving the line to a spare PAP2. This is the same problem I had with the rt31p2. I ended up shorting out the pins on phone port 2 to fix the problem on the rt31pt. I haven't tried that on the Motorola. So I don't know if that trick would work. |

What firmware version do you guys have on the 2442? Is this the latest one: 1.3.3.1101? Is that even a firmware version, or am I looking at the wrong place? |

I don't get it, If you Reps from Vonage know about this problem with Motorola why are you letting them send it out to new costomers. I had 3 Lynksys routers with Vonage and was very happy, this is not good for Vonage, they should stop using them asap and let people trade in for a lynksys. |

I don't see that they offer Linksys adapters in the US anymore, apart from the wireless router (WRTP54G). |

OK, so I tried shorting the two center pins of an RJ11 and plugging into phone port 2 as mentioned in other threads, but this did not help the noise issue at all. |
