In Area Code 781, 7 or 10 number working, and as an additional benefit
your 7 digit number comes up as 'unknown" in the receiving caller Id

Wow! 7 digit dialing over here in 251!!! Couldn't be happier Smile Yeah, about a 6 or 7 second delay, but for less hassle I am not complaining. Am sure that will be fixed soon.

The time delay when using seven-digit dialed can be
shortened by pressing the pound (#) sign at the end
of the digits. EX: 124567#.

I just tried it, and it works. I wish I had known about it sooner, I've been dialing 10 digits all this time.
Maybe they should have some kind of newsletter, monthly or quarterly, to update customers on these issues.

Hmm, not for me. I am beginning to hate newsletters, I just let Norton AntiSpam delete them with the rest of the junk I get each day.

I would rather read about it right here on my own time, IMHO

Yes, I agree about the email newsletters, I hate them too.
What I meant (and didn't articulate), is a newsletter that is viewable when you log on to your Vonage account, so you can see new features and information about service status.
They have a section that is supposed to display service problems, but I haven't seen anything on it when I'm having problems...

I see we can dial local calls using 7 digit dialing, which is great. I'm currently using a temporary number while Vonage transfers my current number to my Vonage account.

Thing is I can dial my next door neighbor using 7 digit dialing, but they have to dial 11 numbers to call me. Could this be because the 3 digit prefix for my temporary number is considered to be a town 20 miles west, and when my current number is transferred my neighbor will then be able to dial 7 numbers or will they always have to dial 11 numbers to reach me?
