Hi folks,
I am having very bad issues with Vonage's call quality overseas. We call Pakistan regularly and the volume is low, they can't hear us, we can't hear them, etc. I thought it may have been a 3rd world country problem, but then I called France and had similar issues.
I have Optimum Online (CableVision) as my cable provider, with the Linksys box.
Here's the stats from the Voip test.
I am seriously considering cancelling but I would like this to work... maybe it's something they can fix or I can? Please give me some ideas.
Speed test statistics --------------------- Download speed: 12330344 bps Upload speed: 1563840 bps Quality of service: 95 % Download test type: socket Upload test type: socket Maximum download pause: 59 ms Average download pause: 2 ms Minimum round trip time to server: 16 ms Average round trip time to server: 56 ms

I have no idea what all the test mumbo jumbo means but have had very clear calls when calling France and London. Hope someone here can help you. Just thought I'd give this a little bump back to the top. |

My inlaws were in India for 3 months over the winter. We called them plenty of times and couldn't believe the great sound quality. Granted there was this 2 second delay due to the distance, but the volume and clarity were unmatched.
I'm not a VIOP number decoder, so I can't comment on whether those are good or not.

..P.S:
Don't forget to Login to your Vonage account, click on FEATURES and verify that your Bandwidth Saver is on 90 kbps. If it is on 90 kbps change to a service provider that offers you Complete Digital Comunication.

That's a contradiction... I am on 90kbps right now... not sure what you're trying to say. |

I am also having trouble calling to Pakistan. And it is not my internet service provider or my bandwidth. I have a business plan with comcast with 1mbps upload, Vonage bandwidth set to maximum. I didn't have this problem when i first started with Vonage, Id say for close to 8 months. Now I am seriously considering changing Voip providers. One other annoying thing, after a call is dropped, redialling is a pain. I have to wait at least 10 minutes before i can redial that same number. Anyhow, i don't see this problem getting resolved. Just my 2 cents. |
