Have had Vonage for more than a year. In the last 3 months, ALL of our calls DROP/end instantly after about 10 minutes. I have talked to CS too many times to count and NO one has offered me any solutions. I have read the suggestions on this forum, and so far, have tried everything - moved the phone, changed the port, rebooted, checked the wires, unplugged the wireless router for a day - NO CHANGE. Someone please help me fix this as we are going to drop Vonage totally.

1.- Mid coast Maine
2 - Adelphia is my ISP - Cable Modem
3. averaged a download rate of 557.40 kilobytes per second
averaged an upload rate of 55.44 kilobytes per second
4. Motorola SB5100 CAble Modem
5. Linksys RT31P2 Vonage Adapter
6.Vonage adapter connected to Modem connected to PC; also have a wireless Linksys Adapter connected as well.
7. Issue at hand - phone calls don't last more than 10 minutes and then end immediately. Has been going on for months.

Your up and down speeds are horrible for a cable modem. You should probably contact Adelphia and have them check things out. You're not going to be able to run Voip with 55Kbps up, which is probably why you're having issues.

[EDIT] - Wait, after closer inspection, it says kilobytes per second. Is that correct, or did you mean kilobits per second? If it really is kilobytes, your speeds are fine.

Yes, indeed they are. What's the software version on your RT31P2?

I had a similar issue with my RTP300 back in December after a software upgrade. The techs were stumped and RMA'd me a new one, although I knew it wasn't the problem. Before I even got the replacement, they pushed a new version of software which resolved the issue. My disconnects were pretty much all within two minutes of establishing a call.

Are your calls disconnecting at 10 minutes to the second every time, or it is +/- a few minutes?

Also, can you be more specific about your setup, you say"

6.Vonage adapter connected to Modem connected to PC; also have a wireless Linksys Adapter connected as well.

Do you mean your RT31P2 is connected to the cable modem and a PC is connected to the RT31P2? Where is the wireless route in the picture?

NO clue which software version I have? They have never suggested that, big surprise. They seem to have NO idea why this is happening. The calls usually go on for about 10 minutes, give or take a few minutes. They NEVER last longer than 15 though. I then have to call a person back on the cell which is a pain in the you know what.

My Voip adapter is connected to the modem, and the PC. My wireless router is also connected to the Voip adapter. We tried turning off the wireless adapter (unplgging it) for a day to see if that made a difference - it did not. We have had the wireless adapter as long as the Voip and everything was fine till a few months ago.

Adelphia just had me to a trace route/ping trace and everything was fine. There were no indications that the problem is on their end and they have been quite helpful, even though it doesn't seem to be their problem.....

it's firmware and you can check it by going to http://192.168.15.1 and looking in the upper right corner (this is assuming a computer is plugged into the back of the rt31p2)

Well, those are the exact symptons I had. As I said, generally the calls would be two minutes then disco, but they would never go longer than 15. My issue was a software problem on the adapter and that was six months ago, I can't imagine you're running a version that old at this point. But do what Reebok showed you and post the results.
