It seems about a month ago my internet with Time Warner went out and they to replace some cable to get my modem to pick back up the signal.....after they fixed my Vonage service has sucked....TW said that because I was splitting my signal after it came out of the walll ( one wire to the TV and one to the Modem) that is why i was losing connection...mind you its been like that for over a year with no problems....is the split what is causing my phone to cut out? or do I need to reset my adapter? maybe its gone bad? Or maybe my wireless network messing with my 2.4GHZ phone althought I had both before? Its driving me crazy..please help ...i dont even want to call Vonage

my money is on the phone. I had the same thing happen to me (pre-voip) where the phone and network never conflicted, then one day they did. I never did find out what changed.
the splits are probably not the problem. I would try it with a different phone first, and if it doesn't fix it, read the always on the very top post that says read here before posting with your problem.

Holy

I'd start troubleshooting system by system

Plug the computer directly into the modem and run some tests. If those are okay, try adding equipment back into the system, but it could still be an ISP issue

so just do it for 5 minutes and see if it fixes it. I have several splits, but I max out my up and download speeds, and latency is never a problem.

I will take out the split but I wanted to be sure that was the problem...i mean it was never a problem before.....it its a huge hassle to get behind the big screen TV....I think if time warner came out and "upped" their signal I wouldnt have a problem....I have noticed my modem losing connection and then regaining connection so I think its struggling to stay in the range

clf,
If I am reading this correct, your quality went up 98% by removing the splitter? Check your connections, make sure the splitter is a high bandwith splitter, check that wiring is at least RG6 (RG59 is not good). These factors will all greatly reduce signal and quality.

Well I think that first test was a mistake....because I had run it about 5 min prior to that test and it was 99%.....I didnt even notice that one said 1%....

The splittler I am using is a time warner splitter so i guess its a good one?

I am using RG6 that was also provided by time warner.....

If this solves my phone problems then I will just get TW to give me another drop for my TV....I hate to do that since this used to all work(about a year) but I am tired of not having a home phone and having friends/family **** about it Surprised
