Post subject: Netopia 3347W and Motorola 2442
If anyone has any router knowledge pleeeease help... i'm going to pull all my hair out over this one.
I want to get the following setup:
ISP
|
|
Netopia --- CompA
|
|
Motorola --- CompB
Netopia : 192.168.1.1 (gateway)
CompA: 192.168.1.55 (static)
Motorola: 192.168.1.200 (gateway/static)
CompB: 192.168.1.56 (static)
I am having trouble with the setup on the Motorola to get CompB onto a static IP that belongs to the Netopia range.
I had this on an old Linksys router no problem, but I guess the VT2442 menus don't work the way I would think they should.
I basically want the Motorola box to be a passthrough and not try and control the subnet or anything.
I also can't get new equipment.
Any hints to this would be a great help!

Read about bridge mode in Nate Hoy's writings
here.
It's usually pretty easy to set up, but your static IPs complicate things a bit.

That was excellent! Thank you!
It worked by forcing a static IP on ComputerB as well.
