My wife just called me at work from our home Vonage line and the CallerID on my work phone showed (416) 361-1979. That ISN'T our #.
Has anyone else ever seen this? I've seen discussions about pay phones showing up as this # before...

Yes, sadly, sometimes with Vonage, the caller ID seems to mess up. I personally have never had it happen, that people have told me anyways, and considering they dont' ask where I'm calling from, I'm assuming I've never had the problem, but I've heard about it many times on this forum. |

No - it was a local call from 647 (Vonage Toronto) to 905 (Markham, Ontario). |

Note that outbound caller ID information is generated by the destination carrier. VERY rarely does the Vonage side cause an error with caller ID data generation/transmission.
Try using the Vonage line and calling other destinations. Does it also give an erroneous number? |
