Fax with Brother 7310

Any quick tips on disabling the ECM and lowering the baud rate? I have only ONCE been able to send a fax with Vonage. I am mostly pleased with Vonage except my fax line.

well...the best suggestion that i can give on this is to call the manufacturer of your fax machine.

it's the only way right?!

mmm i believe it's the Overseas mode that needs to be adjusted.. (it's called like that instead of baud rate, am not sure).. but i sugggest u disable this...

- Press MENU / SET
- Select 2 on Main Menu
- then Submenu 2 (setup send)
- then Menu Selection 10 (Overseas Mode)
- Option OFF

This worked for me just today on my Brother Intellifax 1270:

1) Set the Bandwidth Saver in my Vonage ACCOUNT FEATURES section to HIGH.

2) Set the OVERSEAS MODE in my fax machine to:ON (after sending a fax, this automatically turns off by default, so be sure to turn this on before sending a fax)

3) Set the RESOLUTION to STANDARD.

And it worked!

FWIW, I have a brother mfc-8500 and I need to set "overseas" mode to ON in order for faxing to work for me.
