Lets make Vonage realize how many people think this is a necessity.

Nobody answers calls anymore unless there is a name on the caller ID. Add names to the outbound caller ID, or I will be switching service.

It didn't seem important to me to have the name on outgoing caller ID, but SWMBO just made it so! She claims that most of the folk she calls screen their calls and won't answer if they don't recognize the name. It would appear that I will be forced to drop the Vonage and port the number to the local Cable Company unless Vonage does something soon & that doesn't seem likely. I have seen Zero features added since I have been with Vonage. When SWMBO speaks I listen!

No. I actually just requested to remove my name from appearing in outbound callerID. For example, if you make a biz call from your home Vonage, you don't want the other party to know you are working from home that day.

Better still, let us change the outbound name at will on the website. A blank name is a good name as any other.

Why dont you just say the name is there because you are using your direct line.

I agree. For my line I would like it to say "NSA" today, "CIA" tomorrow, "FBI" over the weekend and "IRS" all next week.

The following week I want it to switch between "CitiBank" and "Bank of America".

Then, to close the month out; "The White House", "Windsor Castle" and "The Vatican" might be cool.

No, no, no, that's moronic response. Simply let the user change between his registered name and blank, nothing else.

Of course, you can always add "multiple personalities" or "split personality" as your name.

A little levity here Surprised Nothing's going to happen. Vonage has not came out with a single new feature in the 17 months I have been with them. Not any reason to believe they will start now!

They are too busy in beating out their IPO fire with their "lucky" users/stock holders. I do think they have a good product and i did notice some of the recent bug/FeatureRequest have been corrected. E.g., deleting online all voicemails did correctly kill the stutter tone on the phone. Stutter tone is an indicator that there is voicemail.

If Vonage doesn't have this fixed by December 2006, I will be canceling my subscription. I am giving them a time frame, but I would really like my name on my phone calls leaving my number, and if they can't do this. well, another Voip company will..
