Hi Gang!

Here is my issue, I have been noticing several problems with my Vonage service in the last few weeks. Some days it works without a problem, other days my family and I would like to throw Vonage to the curb to go back to "Big Brother" AT&T.

On days we are having problems, people I am talking to tell me that it sounds like the audio from me sounds choppy and broken up, sometimes it drops audio completly even though I can hear them fine.

Other times, I have heard a "clicking" type noise and occassionally the person I am talking to will drop off for a few seconds and then return.

The bulk of the time the problem is the first issue, me dropping off.

Here is some information about my setup as requested by the "sticky note"

1. St. Clair Shores, Michigan
2. Comcast / Cable Modem
3. 4.3Mbit Download 206kbps Upload
4. Linksys BEFCMU10 (From 2002)
5. WRTP54G - With a Linksys 7dbi High Gain Wireless Antenna
6. Modem---->Vonage Adapter-->PC

your connection is less than ideal, particularly "from you to boston" which would represent your voice talking to the other person, which is consistent with your primary problem. unfortunately these issues are sometimes hard to resolve, unless you happen to be running some high bandwidth program like bitorrent or some other p2p software. have you noticed any more or less problems on the phone when the computer is turned off? that would be one way to test if something on your computer is causing the issue. and if so, there are ways to fix that.
aside from that however, you're pretty much looking at begging comcast to make your connection a little better. just tell them you have slow browsing or something. if you can access your cable modem interface (i.e. http://192.168.100.1) which it doesn't look like you can from glancing at the manual, post the signal values.

We do have several computer running on this network. I am not aware of any p2p or bittorent programs running but I do know ther computers are aways on. I'll try leaving them off to see how my phone service reacts, and then i'll post an update.
