Post subject: Test still seems incorrect
I am still getting a download speed reported that is about 1/3 of what I actually have (and is reported by other tests).
And it claims the jitter is very bad, yet I have no
Voip
problems.

I just got all green lights with a score of 4.0, but last night I was alternating between all green lights and red lights on both "quality of service" and "jitter" and . During that same period of time I ran some tests at other sites that all looked very good.
If one runs the test and gets a good result, that would have to be good, but it is also obvious that a bad result does not mean that
Vonage
service will not work well.
For example, I ran some tests while my wife was actually talking on the phone. The conversation was about 45 minutes long, so I had plenty of time to test. The results varied from all green to yellows and reds with jitter sometimes showing in the 300 ms range.
When she got off the phone I asked her about the voice quality of her call and she said that she had not noticed any imperfections. So clearly, the
Vonage
service can sound perfect, even while this test is reporting that it will not work at all.

My test results are all over the place too. One test might show all green and the next will show bad jitter and QOS. Then the next test will show good QOS and bad jitter and the next all green again. I'm not sure if it's the test or what but my calls sound good.

We've had people doing the test from around the world for about two months now and I can tell you that this test is stable and accurate.
Results like that is a good indication that you have serious ISP issues.

I have tried the test numerous times and gotten widely varying results (especially on the jitter test showing from 5 ms to 394 ms).
I have two internet connections, Comcast and Verizon FIOS. Both show inconsistent results. And using FIOS, which is where I route my
Voip
, I have excellent sounds quality.
And testyourvoip.com gives pretty consistenly good results.

That has been my experience as well - consistent results from other test sites, but not from the
Vonage
test. I have also tested from at least four different locations, and they are also inconsistent.
So, I would conclude that if I have "serious ISP problems", so do most of the people that I know. And if most people actually have a serious ISP problem, how the heck is
Vonage
ever going to be successful?
Beyond that, I think it is important to keep in mind that my
Vonage
phone service is working well. If this is intended to assess connection quality issues that cause problems with
Vonage
phone service, there is no doubt in my mind that it is failing to do that job.
I mean, if it's just for grins, then it's a cool tool, but it is certainly not giving an accurate assessment of the actual
Voip
call quality that can be obtained with my particular internet connection.

Pls PM your test numbers. It appears at the end of the test. We would like to look at the backend data.
Also, your OS, Browser, Location and ISP... and anything else you could add that might be helpful (network config...).
I am not saying that you are not having an issue, I am sure you are. we just can not replicate it and most all other reports do not support this kind of results.
Thank you

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you on this one. I think your test is flawed. I don't have any problems with my ISP nor my DSL connection and I haven't in the year that I've been with them. And other than losing dialtone with my
Vonage
on a constant basis, my calls are perfect. Furthermore on the other
Voip
test to Boston my results were always nearly perfect everytime. In fact I've posted that info here and people were amazed at my results. There are quite a few of us reporting the same problems with your new test. Maybe you should look at it again.

I have been looking.
The test is current being run more than 1000 times per hour. (server over load)
We will limit that tomorrow to once per hour per member which should reduce the server load.
Sorry for the confusion but we never expected this kind of traffic on the test.

It has been confirmed that we currently are having server issues with the test server.
Take all current test results with a grain of salt.
I will update this thread when this is corrected.
Thank you,
