I know this sounds too good to be true, but apparently CNBC says that this is a posibility. This is due to conflicting statements made by Vonage during the past week, as reported in the media - and an obvious mispricing of this security.

Under this scenario, the Underwriters would "Redo" the IPO - Voiding the original transaction, and repricing the IPO. They would also VOID all trades.

I thought a poll would be fun!

Can you provide a link or other source. Please don't tell me "I just saw it on T.V!"

sorry, but I did "see it on TV"

I am not making this up - they did not say it was going to happen, they just said it was a possibility and would not be unprecedented.

It aired for about 4 minutes around 12:20pm.

I will check - it was a long segment (by CNBC standards) - so, I imagine that a link will exist somewhere...soon...

I searched all over CNBC and found nothing regarding this rumor. The latest news brief they had for Vonage is the following:

HOLMDEL, N.J. (AP) - Ending speculation, Internet phone company Vonage Holdings Corp. said customers who agreed to buy into its initial public offering last week must follow through on their commitment to buy shares, even though they have fallen more than 29 percent in value.

Vonage had set aside up to 13.5 percent of its $531 million offering for customers, an unorthodox move aimed at increasing customer loyalty and creating publicity ahead of its IPO. That move backfired when the stock dropped almost as soon as it started trading.

IPO participants committed to buy the stock at $17 a share. On Thursday morning, the shares were trading at $11.96, down 6 cents, on the New York Stock Exchange.

Under the terms of the program allowing customers to participate in the IPO, "if a customer was allocated shares in the Customer Directed Share Program, that customer is obligated to purchase their share allocation from the underwriters," Vonage said in a statement late Wednesday. "To be clear, we have not offered and are not offering to repurchase any of the shares of common stock from our customers."

However, Vonage said in its prospectus that it has agreed to pay the banks that arranged its IPO for any losses arising from customers who refused to pay for their shares. That unusual provision helped fuel speculation, even though it may have been legally impossible for Vonage to buy back shares from one class of IPO investors to the exclusion of others.

Deutsche Bank, Citigroup and UBS were the lead underwriters of Holmdel-based Vonage's offering.

News Flash 06/02

HOLMDEL, N.J. (AP) - Further ending speculation, Internet phone company Vonage Holdings Corp. strenuously said customers who agreed to buy into its initial public offering last week must follow through on their commitment to buy shares, even though they have fallen more than 29 percent in value.

Seeing that CNBC was the ones reporting that investors who did not want to pay for their shares would not have to (later denied by Vonage), I do not think there is any reason to believe this report either.

I do not like to go on the record with a 100% statement on anything outside of my control, but I feel it is at least 99.99% sure that this will NOT happen.

1 in 1000.... I disagree...I think it is unlikely, but not that unlikely.

I would say more like:

25% Vonage's IPO is Cancelled, and repriced...all trades voided
75% Vonage continues to show that they don't know how to manage a publicly traded company...

99.99% that CNBC had the reporting right, and that it was Vonage - not CNBC who blew it this week with contradictory statements...

100% that class-action lawsuits will begin next week

Do you think the new Bloomberg article is going to increase the likelyhood that this is IPO is cancelled?
