As a protest for Vonage lack of backup systems, causing today's massive problems and total loss of phone service across the nation, every Vonage user ought to go into their Vonage setup and set simulring to ring the Vonage corporate number every time someone calls your phone. That way their corporate number will be swamped, showing a peaceful protest. Their corporate number is shown below:

Do it for just one hour during the business day tomorrow, but it will make the point. |

If you did not have a complete outage for about three hours late this afternoon, you were apparently one of the few in the nation. They apparently went completely down- no dial tone, no voicemail, no ability to check the web site, or anything. For example, go read the following link:

Well, I've been out for the day so far. I may set up simul-ring with my cell phone, though. That would make sense. Voicemail seems to work so I can at least get voicemails and then call people back on my cell phone.
I do agree with the point that Vonage should have better backup systems. Hopefully in a geographically diverse fashion in the future. I would expect that these are growing pains of the company. |

They are growing pains and this is to be expected with new technologies, so I am not mad at them and not leaving them. However, I think they need to know customers want them to plan better for contigencies. |

Oh no wait. Here's a better idea. Why don't I castrate myself and sent the frank & beans to Vonage's CEO in the mail! Hey. We should all do that! That would really show them not to have an outage!
BTW, what outage? |
Dude, you are too freakin' funny! BTW, I hate BellSouth also!
No outage here. Been working great all day. |

Strange...no problems here today in California, 650 and 408 area code. But Vonage does have Outage settings which you can direct calls to cell phone in case there's a outage. |

I was part of the outage yesterday too. I'm in the 919 area code on the east coast. I have Vonage set up to forward my calls to my cell phone in the event the network is unavailable. I got ZERO calls on my cell phone, but I know for a fact that people were calling the house because one called later and said 'I've been trying to call for an hour but I kept getting a busy circuits beep'. I guess when they went down, they went down hard. I've been with Vonage for 3 weeks today and last night was the first hiccup I've encountered. |

I'm in the 240 area - on the east coast - and we were down for a about 2 hours. I'm also new; about three weeks with the service and so far, it rocks. |

That is strange? I don't think that the outage was across the whole system. I have Cisco ATA 186, lost dial tone and rebooted and it came back up. Two local friends with Motorola TA did not come back up after reboot, just kept getting 4 blinks. We all have the same DSL provider, but different Vonage area codes. All working today, but can not log into account......... |

My phone service was fine all day yesterday, too (248 AC). I couldn't log into the account pages, but I hardly do that anyway.
Yes, I'm OUTRAGED!!! |
