I successfully forward any port to any computers in the LAN, except port80. I've to switch my Windows IIS web server to any port but 80 and forwarding was successful on those other ports. Why?
I appears that the Motorola VT2442 is already hoarding port80 for its own use, e.g., when you call its web interface "192.168.15.1". Vonage techs can't answer that question nor offer solution. They referred me to Motorola whom promptly referred me back to Vonage because Motorola does not support any of its VoIP products directly.
Anyone with the same problem or has a solution please? |

Yes same problem here:
You cannot vew the port 80(http) or 443(https) with port forwarding within the LAN. You can from a computer on the WAN. |

I've got a similar problem. Jus got and installed the new Motorola VT2542 router and Vonage helped get it working fine BUT I run a websever from home for our church and a couple of sites I play around with. Before the Linksys went out it all worked fine. Now I try to go to any of my sites and I get the router login screen? If the funky Port Forwarding is working I should get the main page but it is the login or sometimes it is connected to the server but says it can't find the main page?? Any help appreciated. I'm leaving on vacation and will be gone for a week but I guess the church site will have to be down until I get back... Hmmmm |

like I said above. You CANNOT view your website within your LAN. If you go to a computer outside of your network, your websites will work fine. They are working right now actually. |

That's curious because I've been able to hit any of my sites, from within the LAN, for about four years now. It is only since we got switched over to Comcast that I now cannot do that. I believe you should be able to go out 80 to your ISP's DNS and then travel back in 80 to your web server. As I say, I've been doing it for awhile now. |

I managed to get some friends (via irc chat) to verify successful apache serving website resolving to dyndns (adsl) (using ddclient) name from their remote comp. lan side does still give router web configurator login screen to that name.
I put host on DMZ, forwarded ISP's DNS and added portforward rule for webserver on said host. it does work. thanks for info. |
