I have an account with cable internet provider TVMAX. My PC, when connected "without" RT31P2 works fine. When I add Linksys Router RT31P2 for Vonage, the connection appears OK, but there is NO internet or voice. I called TVMAX support. They say that when my router calls them for "lease" - the router does not wait long enough to wait for response and sends another request, and keeps sending requests. He asked me to double the "timeout" but did not know how to do it for this specific router. I called Linksys but their live tech support was NO help and instead gave me a standard scripted answer. What do I do? I am stuck in Houston with no phone service. |

Have you tried setting the RT31P2 to clone your PC's MAC address? That, and/or make sure you've power-cycled the cable modem after switching devices. |

Power cycling does not work - what exactly will MAC cloning do? |
