i have been trying to use click2call and each time I launch it, it asks me to login with my Vonage user and password. When I do it returns an error. I have tried to Uninstall it, rebooted and then reinstalled a newly downloaded copy of the application, No help. Changed password, no help. Turned off Zone Alarm (my firewall), no change. The error is 100:Authentication Failed.
Is anyone else having this problem? I have written support but they have not given me any ideas that work. In fact they want me to email them my user login and password so "they will try it". I am very leary of this since I would think they already have that information. |

I had used the beta version of it and then uninstalled it a while ago. Got a new PC last week so I downloaded what appears now to be the final version. I had the same problem as you, and what finally got me logged in was to type my username in all lowercase letters (even though I have both upper and lower in my offical login at vonage.com). If you also have numbers in your login, try both the top row on the keyboard as well as the keypad too.
If you do get logged in, right click on the icon in your tray and select preferences and then "save password" then click "apply" - it didn't take the first time for me, but did the second. |

Sorry - what you described sounded exactly like what was happening to me last week.
I don't know if this could be part of the problem, but is there anyway your internet security (in options on IE) could be set too high and not trusting whatever site it's trying to log in to?
I don't use Zone Alarm, you might want to try uninstalling that. There might still be something in there preventing it from getting out.
If you use XP, you can turn on a built-in firewall instead, by going to Network Connections, then right clicking on your connection, then going to the Advanced tab, then check the "protect my computer" option that is listed first. |

Try this:
Use all lower case when placing your username or password. Don't worry about Capital letters. All lowercase.
Try that and let us know. |

Are you a vonage.com or vonage.ca customer??
Because the click2call does not work for Canadian accounts yet, as I learned from a reply email from Vonage. |

Vonage.com customer. IE security settings at default, and I do not use Windows Firewall. I have tried all lowercase for username and password, no help as well as many combinations of upper and lower case. Wonder if my Router could somehow be causing it? Although it seems weird that anyof this would, once the program is launched the password part should be straight forward over the internet, and internet access works fine. |

JL1210:
It could be your router but I doubt it. The click2call feature works off of your username and password of the account. Could try and request a new password from Vonage.com forgot password link and try with the new one.
Also click2call works on secured websites to Vonage for your login just like the web account. Please check to see that you can access secured websites or have your security settings set lower than normal. This may be not letting the application go the secured website.
Another thing is I believe Vonage is having problems with the Web Site at the moment. May want to try back a bit later or tomorrow.
Hope this helps. |

I tried it on multiple computers in my houes-2 WindowsXP and 1 Windows98, no help. I had tried to change my password and this did not help. I just had my brother try it, although he does not have Vonage, he installed it on a Windows98 system, and used my Login and password, same error. Does anyone use an "&" sign in there user name? Have you tried click2call? |

Tier 3 finally verified the problem. They then changed my User name to remove the & sign and it worked. |
