Post subject: Help me choose the right devices.
I am looking for advice choosing the right devices before I order
Vonage
. Basically I have a wireless network at home, with broadband provided by Adelphia. I have 2 PC's and a wireless printer in my environment. I want to have 4 cordless phones and the ability for my Direct TV DVR to dial out. I do not mind swapping out my current D Link wireless router as good phone quality is my primary concern.
I spoke with
Vonage
Customer Service and found them pleasant. I wanted to get advice from
Vonage
customers as it hopefully will be less biased.
One last thing I noticed a slight echo when talking to Customer Service. Is an echo common on
Vonage
?
I appreciate any advice that you all may provide.

I have a similar setup to you (minus the DirectTV) and here's what I ended up doing:
I opted for the Linksys RTP300
I hung the RTP300 off the back of my existing wireless router and use it as an ATA only - forget that it's even a router
I have a Uniden Tru-8885 phone (base + 2 handsets, expandable, 5.8GHz)
Call quality has been fine, better than I expected really (although I had low expectations going in). The only place you might experience some trouble is with your DirectTV system. You can check the Fax-TiVo-Alarms forum for more info on that. My personal recommendation is to avoid the 2.4GHz cordless phones as they can interfere with the wireless network.
