Perhaps you are correct if you live close to an Interstate or live in the city. I live on the side of a mountain with a partial view of downtown Atlanta. The most signal strength I see in my house on my cell phone (and I didn't have one until recently) is three ticks and often I see one or zero at some locations in the house. Even at three sometimes my call is dropped.

But, one point in a prior post was, once deaths are repeatedly attributed to the lack of available IP telephone service, Congress will eventually get involved. Either the cable industry fixes the problem first or everyone pays when Congress gets involved.

Every company needs to learn the product and when they launch it it will cause problems for sure. It requires time to catch up with new products like Voip and other products. Cable companies do TVs all their lives and telephone companies the same thing. Imagine if Sprint, for example, do TV service, everybody will have problems for long time and then is going to be an issue for humanity - you will say "They suck big time".

Voip is a product that require RG-6 prewire with the right components in it besides drop and mainline outside residence. You really will get packet loss if having bad prewire and/or corroded fittings and so on. If you use RG-59 prewire I assure you personaly that your Voip with cable companies or broadband companies will have a lack of transmission. But see, you have to pay for prewire installation unless you want to do it yourself.

Again, if they say that modem is fine, outside is good and whatever else check your prewire.

Understand one thing, by pointing fingers to people or companies you will not change anything, it will be the same forever. Vonage is a product that requires a cable company's connection in order to work, without them they suck. See, companies have their pros and cons, plus customer service in every company is the same. They can train each individual, but they can't make them think, act and work the same way, cause it is impossible.

Give time to time, nobody is perfect.
