Wanted to check if i can get Vonage service using my ISP.
My ISP gives a static IP and in addition to that has a username password that i need to enter when i first try to access any web page. My apartment has a Ethernet Cable coming in, i plug it into my computers ethernet port.
I have read in the forum that Vonage would not allow the units to be assigned static ip. So with my ISP's first constraint, i cannot hook Vonage box to the ethernet wire.
Wanted to know which router i can use where i can enter both a static IP and username/password to get it working with my ISP and then hook my Vonage to the router. |

I'm not sure where in the forums you read that Vonage won't allow their routers to be assigned a static IP. You can set the router up that way if you'd like. Also, I believe most, if not all, of the routers support PPPoE connections such as what you've described. |

I tried static IP with PPPoE (username and password) but it still did not work.
Vonage adaptor is getting hosedup. I need to reboot the adaptor to get it working again. |
