It is a Vonage issue. Do not let them tell you it is something on your set up. You can check that just going to the web and checking how the calls are registered there.... If the problem is represented in their records in the web site... the problem is then obviously THEIRS, not yours.

In my case, no. I am aware that calls from other Vonage users (Vonage-to-Vonage) only display the phone number as the CID info.

I second that. I will go through my call log for the last few months. The same numbers that used to give the caller's name (both mobile & POTS lines) is no longer showing up.

hmm It must be because Canadians are always treated differently...
For example: in the U.S.A you pay less for the very same service and with more features. We have to pay here 39.99 Canadian dollars for the unlimited while you pay only 24.99 American dollars.
With the current exchange rate (give or take) we pay the equivalent of 36 American dollars. (And no free calls to some destinations in Europe)
So we pay 11 American dollars more for less service! Great! Isn't it?

It was moved because 90% of this topic is based in Canada.

I received a call from my brother's cell phone a few minutes ago and it showed his name on the caller ID. His wife called this morning from her cell phone and it showed "FL WIRELESS". They are on a shared SprintPCS plan and their numbers are consecutive (one-digit off).

Why is that, VONAGE?!?!

On June 14, calls from my office to my home began to be "mis-identified" by my Vonage called ID. It turns out that the business name now showing up on the phone happens to be the name of a company branch that shared the same phone number, but that my employer shut dow OVER 10 YEARS AGO. I called BellSouth (561 area code) and they don't even show the old name in their records.

Calls to "land line" caller ID users by my employer show up correctly.

At the same date, calls to my home from my cell phone changed for "Wireless Caller" on my caller ID to "Cell Phone, FL". This isn't a problem, but it is indicative of a change.

SOMETHING is going on at the Vonage end, and it's not good.
Confused

Mine has gotten better over the last week or two. The flakiness is still spotty. I hate to call Vonage and have them make some adjustments because I'm afraid that fixing this may break something else, which I don't want.

The caller ID issue is, at most, a nuisance. But a disruption to my service like audio quality or no CID would be worse.

rolands

BTW, is "flakiness" a word? Eek
