May I have your help, please?
Hooked up Motorola yesterday as per basic instructions included in Welcome Package. Phone works perfectly, but now I've lost Internet/e-mail access.
I only have one computer and one telephone...so I don't have a router. Don't have a Firewall (as far as I know). TCP/IP setup is dynamic/auto-detect. Cable service provider is Shaw.ca.
I'm good at following directions, but am not sure of many of the abbreviations/acronyms in many of the other forum topics.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks. |

Since this has been up for about two hours, I'll correct it for you Moto.
The address should be 192.168.102.1

Thanks Moto and TechguyGA! The Internet access prob resolved itself with a good hard jiggle of the Ethernet cable (embarrased blush).
E-mail not so easy.
Ended up spending time on phone with Customer Service, and they surmised that I need a router...or something newer than Win 98.
In any case, here are my specs from the IP address(es) you gave me
DNS Servers 64.59.184.13 64.59.184.15 DHCP Server/NAT Enabled DNS Servers 64.59.184.13 64.59.184.15 DHCP Server/NAT Enabled Configured MAC Address 00:80:C8:93:6D:10 Factory MAC Address 00:0F:9F:84:F4:B4
Also on 192.168.102.1, Tech also had me "Enable DMZ", but that knocked out my Internet again. Also "Specified DNS servers" at one point--but that didn't make a difference to e-mail.
(Gee...listen to me...it almost sounds like I have some idea what I'm saying...lol)
Anything like this happen to you?[/list] |
